Cape Coral Museum of History Reopening
After being closed to the public for two months, the Cape Coral Museum of History is happy to announce that we have reopened to the public as of Wednesday May 13, 2020.

We will be operating our regular hours of 11am - 4pm Wednesday through Friday, and 10am - 2pm on Saturdays for guided tours only, with the following adjustments:

  • Tours of the Museum will leave once an hour, on the hour , starting at 11am Wednesday through Friday and at 10am on Saturdays. The last tour will begin at 3pm Wednesday through Friday, and at 1pm on Saturday.
  • Visitors are encouraged to call, email, or book online in advance to sign up for a specific tour time.
  • No more than 8 people per tour (plus tour guide) will be allowed.
  • Theatre seating will be rearranged to accommodate current social distancing guidelines.
  • Tour guides will wear masks while giving tours. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks as well.
  • Signage has been placed throughout the Museum to encourage proper hand washing, coughing and sneezing etiquette.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol is available in a variety of locations throughout the Museum buildings.
  • Tissues and no-touch trash cans are provided throughout the Museum.
  • Commonly touched surfaces (doorknobs, counter tops, exhibit cases, bathrooms, etc.) will be wiped down by employees using disposable wipes before and after each tour.
  • Handshaking will be discouraged.
  • Employees will gather guest contact information, rather than having visitors enter their information directly in the guest book.
  • Appointments must be made for ANY business other than touring the Museum or purchasing items in the Museum Store.
To book a tour or make an appointment, contact the Museum Monday through Saturday at 239-772-7037 or via email. Tours may also be booked online.  While we may never be back to "normal", we are happy to be open again and look forward to seeing everyone at the Museum soon!
